Product Description

Zeno is a hand-held battery-operated device designed with a tip that heats to a pre-set temperature. The biocompatible tip is designed for direct contact with a blemish on the skin. Once in contact with a blemish, the tip will transfer heat into the follicle. An internal PID controller chip continually modulates the temperature to a fixed range even under different skin and circulation conditions by adjusting the flow of energy to match precisely the heat absorption of the individual user. Zeno’s microprocessor adapts not only to your individual skin type but also to the heat absorption characteristics of the location of the pimple. Your Zeno adapts to you! An integral digital timer controls the treatment time. The level of heat does not cause skin damage.

Specifically, Zeno stimulates a heat-shock response in p. acnes, the bacteria causing at least 90% of all acne blemishes. Heat shock proteins, activated by bacterial cells under heat stress, cause the self-destruction of p. acnes within the lesion, reducing inflammation and allowing the skin to return to a healthy state.

What is Zeno?

Zeno is a handheld, portable electronic medical device that is clinically proven to make pimples disappear fast. In fact, for treating acne pimples, it's the most scientifically advanced and effective device available without a prescription.

What does it do?

Zeno applies a precisely controlled heat dose directly to the pimple through a metal pad. One treatment lasts 2½ minutes. Two to three treatments spread over 24 hours clear up most pimples quickly. It's that simple.

How does it work?

Pimples occur when excess skin oil and flaking skin plug the opening of a hair follicle and create the ideal environment for acne bacteria to grow. Precisely controlled heat applied for a specific period of time causes the bacteria to self-destruct. When the bacteria die, the pimple goes away.

How many treatments does it take?

Two to three 2½-minute treatments spread over 24 hours are sufficient for most pimples. Often, only one treatment is needed.

Who should use Zeno?

Zeno is for people with mild to moderate inflammatory acne. If in doubt, ask your doctor.

When should Zeno be used?

Use Zeno at the first sign of a pimple. It works best when used on a pimple in the early stages of development. Also, the sooner pimples are cleared up, the less chance they have to leave scars.

How does Zeno compare with topical or oral treatments?

Zeno can clear up a pimple in just hours. Most other medications can take days or even weeks to work. What's more, other than slight, temporary skin redness, Zeno has none of the side effects described by most topical or oral medications.

Is Zeno safe and painless?

Patients included in our clinical trials experienced little reaction to the low-level heat. Other than some temporary skin redness following a treatment cycle, no other adverse side effects were reported. But should you experience any discomfort when using Zeno, discontinue use and consult your skin care professional.

Is Zeno all I need for acne?

Zeno does not replace good skin hygiene or a doctor's care. It is designed to treat mild to moderate inflammatory acne. Your doctor may recommend other therapies, depending on the severity of your acne. Follow your doctor's advice and use Zeno for the occasional pimple.

Sunshine Rewards Review of Zeno Acne Clearing Device

Skeptical but now a believer!

Reviewer: A. Hudson, GSO
I was very skeptical about this item. I am a 34 year old female who has had mild acne my whole life. Most people never noticed but it is because I never left the house if it was very severe. I have tried everything. I have spent so many dollars on acne products and believed one recent "acne kit" worked but the acne was still there. I must have tried every brand out there. Every cream, gel, lotion, ointment, mask, toner, astringent, etc. I thought it was the way I ate but I drink a ton of water and never touch fast food. I then though maybe it was because I was over washing. You name it I have thought of it. I bought this after I have had a few zits that would not clear up. Nobody likes to talk or even read about zits/acne but it is a problem for some of us. It literally kept me from going out. I recently had a huge one on my cheek, the kind you can feel and it is still healing. I received the ZENO 90 last week. I charged it for the first six hours and it states to use it on acne that is not at the surface already but acne that you can feel coming on. I had a few small ones and tried it on those and they went away. Still skeptical because they were not big and never hit the surface so how was I to know it was the ZENO or not. Then tonight I got a really big one next to the old one on my cheek. I got depressed. I know it is pathetic. I knew this was one that was going to be huge. It was one like the others I have had. You cannot help but pick at it and it takes weeks to go away. Scabs up and bleeds, no make up will cover it. Since it was so deep I truly did not think the ZENO would get it. I could literally feel pain on my cheek that is how bad this new acne was. I used the ZENO twice on it tonight and I cannot even feel the acne pain anymore and within hours it is clearing up! I did not believe it would work until I tried it tonight. I almost want to cry. This little device is giving me part of my life back. I was so embarrassed at some of my recent acne I could not bare to face people. What this thing did tonight proved it works on even the most deep seeded acne that will take weeks to clear. As far as treatments they are not bad at all. They have some heat but nothing too uncomfortable. I truly think it is the acne that you apply it to that can cause the most pain not the device. I also clean the device with an alcohol pad after each use just to be safe. I cannot say enough about this product. I was very skeptical but after tonight, I am a believer and will never use anything else besides this. Of course I will still wash my face with a cleanser but if I feel anything coming on, I am using my ZENO. It rocks!

Reviewer: D. Callahan,
I was skeptical of this product - especially at the price - however I am so pleased with its effectiveness. I rely on other reviewers remarks and so I am writing to tell you that it is definately worth the price. I can't believe how quickly it clears up a pimple. When I think of all the money I've spent on products over the years - and I'm in my 40s! I was tired of buying products that overdried my skin but left me with a red, angry looking spot. This product is truly amazing and works as effectively on mild acne. I only wish the Zeno was around when I was a teenager!
AMAZING!!

I usually only break out once a month, but when I do it's not just little pimples, it's cystic acne. I know the product says it doesn't treat cystic acne but I thought I'd give it a shot. I knew right away that I was about to get one so I started the treatment. I actually did about 3 treatments for about 2 1/2 days. It was well worth it. Not only did my huge zit go away, it went away without the bleeding, scarring and dark spots that usually acompany it's horrible visit. This little machine is heaven sent and well worth the price!!
Buy this product!

Reviewer: Ally,
As I bet most people are, I was very skeptical of this product before I bought it, but I have to tell you, it is absolutely amazing. I have struggled with acne since I was a teen, and while it has cleared up a lot, I still get menstrual acne, and always have at least one pimple. From the very first time I used Zeno, I have been amazed. It keeps new pimples from growing, and while it says it doesn't work on existing acne, I used it on a cluster of 3 pimples I'd had for a month, and within 2 days, they were completely gone. I could not be happier with this product and it is totally worth the price.

Buy it!!
Great device!

I only just recently discovered the Zeno. I wish I'd heard about it sooner. I've been through numerous treatments of Accutane and every topical product available. This is by far the best solution for clearing up acne I've found. Within hours of my applying the third (sometimes second) treatment to the affected area it is cleared up. I get cystic acne, and have had a very high success rate with it. Not wanting to go through another course of Accutane this appeared to be a viable alternative for me ... and thus far it has proved to be the best alternative I've tried.

I read all the reviews on the product before I purchased it and found them to be overwhelmingly positive. While this product is quite an investment when I compare it to what I've spent in treating acne over the years the cost is trivial. I've been battling acne since my teen years and am now in my 40's. I've had a lot of experience with a number of products and consider this to be by far the best solution.

How To Determine The Best Skin Care Product for Your Skin

There are hundreds, if not thousands, of acne skin care products available in the market these days. Therefore it can be quite difficult to choose the right one. Moreover, advertisements and media campaigns add to our confusion. Companies that sell those skin care product use beautiful models in their advertisements who tell us how these skin care products make them look so beautiful and sexy.

Many of us, of course, does not believe all these “ad talks”, however it can influence and confuse us. If you are having a difficult time to decide which acne skin care product to choose you should turn a deaf ear to all those advertisements and focus on finding the solutions to the skin problems you have.  Below are some tips that will help you to choose the right product for your skin problems.

Know The Source Of Your Skin Problems

It is very important to understand the nature and causes of acne. You will be unable to find the correct acne skin care product if you do not know what causes your skin problems. There are many factors that may cause acne including bacteria, hormones, blocked bores, follicle fallout and many others. Simple cases such as blocked pores can be solved with just cleansers.

In the majority of cases, cleaning the pores with over-the-counter skin cleanser and a mild soap will make a huge difference in a very short period of time. But, if your skin is dry and sensitive, you should be extra careful with soap and other over-the-counter products. Always read the labels carefully and make sure that the product is free of alcohol and other antiseptics. Make sure you use only very gentle products with low ph so they do not cause the further drying of your skin.

However, bacterial infections are much more difficult to remove. In case your acne is caused by bacteria, you will need much stronger acne skin care products. Be aware that the bacteria on your skin can spread really fast and can bring about some unsightly looking imflammations.

You will probably have to use stronger products and antibiotics to get rid of inflammation. It is also strongly recommended that in more serious cases you consult your dermatologist. With more severe acne outbreaks you should avoid self medication as you might cause more harm than good

All of us have to go through the sate in our life when we experience many physical and hormonal changes. This stage is called puberty and none of us can avoid it. Puberty is followed by another crucial stage called adolescence. Those two stages are marked by many physical changes. One of those changes young people hate is acne.

First of all it is not true that only teenagers suffer from acne. Acne can affect people of any age and gender. There is no age limit for acne, so you can suffer from it even as an adult. However, teenagers are more prone to acne as they are going through some great hormonal changes.

What are therefore the causes of acne?

Acne is caused by bacteria, there is no question about that. It occurs when our pores get blocked with too much sebum produced in our skin glands.

As we all know, teenagers do not really pay attention to their hygiene and the care of their facial skin is also neglected. Because of this, acne outbreaks are more probable and happen much faster. Teens experience many hormonal changes and one of these changes involves extra sebum production. This might cause problems, especially when the skin is not takes care of properly and acne is what usually happens.

Acne is a common skin problem all around the world. Luckily, there are remedies that help us fight acne. These remedies include herbal solutions as well as chemical solutions. Acne, with proper treatments, can be cured, so one should not worry too much. Also, seeking the help on a dermatologist is something one who suffers form acne should consider.

Teenagers should also ask their parents for help, as they can provide them with some valuable advice.

Possibilities of getting acne are higher if one of the parents suffered from acne before.

No matter what the cause, make sure that you take a good care of your skin. Remember to wash and clean it properly, give it the right amount of treatment and if problems come do not let them to get worse.

7 Home Remedies to Minimize Acne Scars

Acne scars are the result of facial skin being ravaged over a long period of time by acne. After you have managed to clear up the acne, you find that it is not the end of your tragedy. You are left with ugly, hyper-pigmented scars and they are just as much an embarrassment as the acne itself.

There are various home remedies for acne scars, just as there are various home remedies for the acne itself. There are different types of acne scars, some are scars are deep-pitted, while others are just surface skin pigmentations. These differences make it impossible for all natural home remedies to wok on all acne scars. If one home remedy doesn’t work for you try another.

Home remedies for acne scars are convenient because they are easy to make and easier to apply. Rosehip seed oil is an excellent option. Although it may be difficult to find, this oil functions as an anti-ageing agent and helps in wrinkle reduction and skin regeneration. The oil is often used in many cosmetic products to cure facial or surgical scars, sun damage, etc. Rosehip oil has to be used on acne scars twice daily.

Olive oil is another home remedy for acne scars. Olive oil is an age old secret dating back to the Romans and Greeks. Olives are high in polyphenols, which are powerful antioxidants. This is how olive oil can moisturize and heal the acne scars. Rub olive oil on your skin at night in place of a traditional chemical laden moisturizer, for beautiful results.

One of the most effective home remedies for acne scars is a mixture of nutmeg and honey, 1 teaspoon each. This has to be applied on the affected area and washed off with cold water after 20 minutes. If this is done regularly twice a week over a period of 2 months, acne scars should be less noticeable.

Another useful method among the many home remedies for acne scars is to make a paste of fresh fenugreek leaves. This has to be applied at night, too. Apply before bedtime and wash off in the morning, this time with warm water. It also works towards the prevention of pimples and blackheads. If this is not convenient for you, try a paste of nutmeg and milk. When applied on the scars or blackheads over a period of 10-12 nights it will work wonders on acne scars and also give you a clean face.

There are even more numerous home remedies for acne scars. An ingredient as basic as baking soda may be of great help. The preparation is simple: mix one teaspoon of baking soda with two teaspoons of mineral water and apply it on your face in a circular motion. Wash it with cold water after one minute of scrubbing and you will have silky-smooth skin.

If you don’t have time to make all these pastes or mixtures there are other solutions to your problem. Just apply tomato and cucumber juice on your face. Another remedy it try is to gently stir an egg white and apply liberally to your face. Go for any of these “unusual” remedies and bypass the expensive products. Acne scar home remedies can be simple and effective if you have patience and are conscientious.

Misunderstanding Acne

With the appearance of those red things on your skin you begin to think what might be causing it. You might even think of the most unreasonable things. Stopping these misunderstandings is the best thing. When you think about them you will have a difficult time finding the correct cure for  acne problem.

Below are the most common things that come to our minds when we think of acne causes.

One of the most common misconceptions is that it’s OK to have acne particularly for a  teenager. People often blame it on the puberty or adolescence. It’s not true, as a matter of fact this is very wrong. Of course, there might be some particular issues such as hormonal changes. But this is a huge misunderstanding when people commenting that acne is teens problem only and no adult can suffer from it. As we could read is some magazine or see on the TV, lot of adults who suffer from the same acne problem as teenagers do. Acne may effect teenagers more but effect anybody irrespective of age and only if you clean your face regularly, you wouldn’t be prone to suffer from Acne.

One more misunderstanding: People believe stress is another factor which causes acne is . Many people are convinced about this  but in reality it is not. There is no proven connection between acne and stress. No matter what causes the stress, the stress will not cause acne. Acne has related to  your treatment and care for your skin. If you are not taking skincare  properly you will most probably suffer from acne – something you want to avoid at all cost.

Many people consider acne as only a physical problem. Well, it is, but it is an emotional problem as well. There are plenty of emotional effects that may be caused by acne. One of the most common emotional impacts is low self-esteem. People with acne feel very insecure and they are usually shy as they do not want to show their faces.

Another very common misunderstanding that eating fatty foods causes acne. Chocolates, French fries, desserts and all those greasy foods shouldn’t  be blamed  and not directly connected for causing acne.

You need to make sure that you maintain the right skin routine and keep your face always clean.

It is crucial that you understand the real reasons and issues

Your Acne and the Society (Social effects of acne on a person)

November 6, 2009 by admin

“Some people think that the physical things define what’s within… So full of the superficial…”

It is an undeniable fact that we all want to look good. Especially when we see all those beautiful models in beauty and fashion magazines we feel that looking good is a must. So, how would you feel if your face was full of red oily bumps? I am sure you would not feel great!

When a person suffers from acne, he or she feels that there is something not right. Acne causes a lot of problems which are not limited to our appearance. There are much worse effects acne has on a person:

  • Frustration
  • Social withdrawal
  • Reduced self-confidence
  • Poor body image
  • Embarrassment
  • Higher unemployment
  • Feelings of depression
  • Decreased self-esteem
  • Anger
  • Preoccupation

There are three crucial points to keep in mind when looking for the best method to get rid of an acne outbreak:

Permanent solutions take time, there is no overnight remedy. take into account that your acne will not disappear overnight. You need to be patient and dedicated. You need to be patient when waiting for the result and dedicated so you stick to your treatment.

Methods that work for the others might not work for you. Do not assume that if the method is good for your friend it will also work for you. It is not that simple. We all have a unique skin type so you will have to most probably try a lot of treatments before choosing one that is best for you.

You might also have to ask a dermatologist for advice. It is not time for experiments. Acne is a sensitive skin problem so it needs subtle methods of treatment. Ask experts for help as otherwise you might end up with condition that is even worse.

Society prefers those who are good-looking. There is no need to have an ideal look in order to meet the standards of today’s society. We have to be confident and it could be achieved if one feels comfortable with him or herself. This is accomplished when you get the healthy and acne-free skin you desire.

Acne and Its treatment

November 6, 2009 by admin

There is no cure for acne and everyone who has ever suffered from it may have had treatment success with a variety of different things. The thing is your acne is different from what others experience simply because we are all different… For that reason, the question of what the best acne treatment is will not be answered in the same manner for each affected person.

It depends on you when it comes to determining what the best acne treatment is and it also depends on how you react to different medications. In addition to special lotions, gels, soaps, toners and cosmetic and surgical procedures there are also pills that you can take orally. The problem is that it takes some time and some trial and error experiments before you will be able to answer the questions: “What is the best acne treatment for me?”

Typical Ingredients You Will Find

While there may be numerous treatments available on the market, majority of the ingredients are likely to be the same while the secondary ingredients might be slightly different. Benzoyl peroxide, especially the prescription strength kind that can be found in several treatments, has been proven to be exceptionally successful in clearing up bad skin. Salicylic acid is another common ingredient which helps clear the skin from the accumulation of dead skin cells that contribute to acne. What the best acne treatment is in respect to these two ingredients is a toss-up as what may work for one, may cause a negative reaction in another person.

Another ingredient that very often finds its way into acne medications is sulphur. People who believe in folk remedies believe that sulphur answer the question of what the best acne treatment is. But even though it is effective in some people, it does not always work. Moreover, sulphur does not completely clear your skin of acne.

Natural Acne Solutions

Every so often, deciding what the best acne treatment is comes down to a matter of organic, natural ingredients. Essential oils have, for ages, been used to fight a number of skin irritations as well as major health issues. Many people have had success with essential oils such as clove oil, tea tree oil, bergamot oil, rosewood oil and even lavender oil.

All these essential oils work great as they have antibacterial properties and are able to fight the bacteria that cause acne. Some of the oils also dry out the skin which helps to avoid sebum build-up. Keep in mind that some of these essential oils are quite strong, therefore you should combine them with carrier oil such as grapeseed before applying on your skin.

So the great secret of what the best acne treatment is will remain a mystery since everyone’s skin and acne problems are different. The only advice for you is to keep looking for different products and allow enough time to experiment to be able to see if one particular treatment does a better job than another. When you have gone as far as you can go on your own in search of what the best acne treatment is, and still have not found anything particularly good, then you should visit your dermatologist for professional advice.

Facing acne:How to cope with its effects

Filed under Acne Around Us, Featured

As we are all aware of, there are emotional effects caused by acne. More than those obvious red marks on face, there’re effects of acne that could not just be healed by any cream or acne solution. Well, no doctor or any expert dermatologist could provide you with the best possible answer to this acne problem instantly.

According to studies, acne is very common when one is on his teenage years. For teenagers experiencing the pains of acne, it is very difficult to face the social impacts of acne. There are these marks of shame, depression and even self-pity. As a teenager’s parent who faces this problem, you could help them. What could you do? You could do a plenty.

Remind your kid that this is a temporary.

As a guardian, you need to be there and give the encouragement to your child. You would probably see him or her so down due to the way people and criticisms faced by them. Tell that it will not last for long and that it would be successfully surpassed. Never stop to explain the importance of moving on despite the negative reactions from others for their words are not that important at all.

Bring your teen to a good dermatologist

Do not wait for your teen’s acne problem to get worse before you go and see a dermatologist. You need to find the dermatologist who deserves your trust. Be with your teen as you have visits to the dermatologist. Also, help your teen follow the reminders and instructions of the dermatologist.

Guide your child to go in a right way

There are some things or acts that may worsen acne. See to it that you are near your teen to remind that acts are not right to do and it would just cause bad effects. Explain the cause and effect of acne problems and be sure t answer questions that your teen has.

Boost your teen’s confidence

Self confidence plunges down when all those mocks and teases arise. The effect to your teen would be bitter. Be generous with praises but do not use them just to flatter. Tell your teen about how wonderful his or her talent is. This would be a lift to his/her morale.

As a parent of the teen, you could help out your teen feel better through the misjudgments of the society towards people with acne. This is just a stage; it would surely be put to an end. Be there and give support to your child like no one could.

Acne Prevention

Most people deal responsibly with simple acne, especially teens. You can head it off before it becomes a problem by trying some of these simple ideas that can prevent and reduce acne. It doesn’t take a lot of time or money and you’ll find yourself saving a trip to the dermatologist.

How to do Acne prevention?

Acne happens for a lot of reasons. People might have biological factors that cause acne to grow such as excessive oil or dead skin. Other times people have unhealthy habits that lead to problems such as acne. Whichever is causing your general acne; you can make some changes to your lifestyle to create ways to prevent it. It might not get rid of all the acne you have or stop it from erupting altogether but you will notice a substantial difference.

Simple healthy changes will not only help reduce and prevent acne but it will also make you feel better about your skin. Start with drinking lots of water. Your skin needs moisture and often it doesn’t get enough for whatever reason. Replenishing the fluids in your body will give your body the ability to return moisture to the skin. It can also increase energy by cleaning out your pores, keep your body’s system regulated and keep you cool in the warmer months.

Eat the right foods. Basically the right food is a well-balanced diet including lots of fruits and vegetables as well as a good source of Omega-3. Omega-3 can be found in sources like fish and walnuts, which also provide other nutrients such as protein, minerals and vitamins. Foods with protein in them are also good ways to prevent acne on the skin because proteins help to repair and strengthen muscles and other types of body tissue.

Remember that sweat isn’t a cause of acne and is actually good for you. Sweat is how the body eliminates toxins and if you don’t sweat then those toxins build up internally. If these toxins or oxidants get caught in the pores of your skin then acne can start to appear. Sweating, especially during exercise, can help to flush the toxins out of those pores. Just be sure to shower after a good workout so the toxins don’t rest on top of your skin.

For girls, and some guys, make-up can be a big issue when it comes to acne. One of the best ways to prevent acne is to be pickier about your make-up. Color and complexion isn’t the only thing that matters because a lot of make-up uses unnatural oils and irritants, which make your skin dirty. Try to find all-natural make-up that is the equivalent of what you would normally wear. Also make sure you always wash the make-up off before going to sleep so it doesn’t build up and clog the pores of your skin.

Acne Foods for Prevention

Most people know about some of the foods that have a tendency to cause acne such as greasy pizza, burgers or chocolate, but there are actually foods that can prevent acne, too. This article gives an overview of some of the possible foods and diets to reduce breakouts from acne.

Acne foods can help a problem most people have dealt with since they were teenagers. We all hope it will go away once we get past the last of the “teen” years, but when we hit twenty it seems like it still plagues a lot of us. While there are a number of different reasons why it affects people the way it does, there are also a number of ways to prevent acne through food and/or diet. There are acne foods that you can make a habit of eating to prevent acne or lessen the flare-up of acne.

Water is the number one liquid for helping to emolliate all health issues and acne is no different. One of the factors that create acne is dry skin. Drinking water replenishes the water in the body and thus moisturizes your skin. Watermelon and other melons provide moisture to your skin internally and is helpful because in includes a few vitamins that keep the skin healthy through food.

Green tea has been promoted as one of the “super acne foods” but you drink it instead of eating it. Not only is Green Tea healthy for your skin it can also help to prevent acne. Try to find organic green tea because it has natural chemicals in it that helps to clean the body of toxins. The oil and sebum that builds up in your pores and creates the pimple, is actually toxins leaving the body. So, if you eliminate the toxins from your body that increase acne irritation you will have begun the first step to acne free skin.

Walnuts, flaxseed oil, and fish can all be useful acne preventing foods, and even helpful for treating acne. They all contain Omega-3, which is a natural anti-oxidant that is great for the skin. It helps repair the skin as well as keep it moist and flexible and that means healthier skin. There are also supplements that can be used for getting Omega-3 into the system, although fresh foods will give your body the best quality vitamins and minerals.

Fresh berries are also great foods to eat to reduce eruptions and prevent acne. They have many vitamins and minerals necessary for healthy skin but, most importantly, they all have anti-oxidants in them that help to keep the skin protected from damage and even some types of bacteria. These chemicals are completely natural so they do not have harmful side effects.

There are also other acne foods that you can apply to your skin rather than eat to keep your skin in great condition and acne free. As an example, you can use the watermelon rind (after you have eaten the watermelon) on your face to help the skin directly absorb some of the moisture and nutrients to prevent the eruption of acne. Crazy, huh?
